Inventory & catalog health — Rules2Tag presets
Stock, variants, publishing state and missing data.
Each of these is a ready-made rule you can adopt in one click inside Rules2Tag, then change however you like. Nothing runs until you say so, and every rule can be previewed against your own store first.

Products missing images
I want to find catalog gaps before customers do
Tags any product with no image.
Why: A product with no image converts near zero and is invisible in most themes. This turns a catalog audit nobody schedules into a tag that maintains itself — and clears the moment someone uploads a photo.
Products with a sold-out variant
I want to know which products are partly sold out
Tags a product where at least one variant is out of stock.
Why: A product that still looks available but has its most popular size gone is a silent conversion leak — visible only by opening each product, unless it is tagged.
Products not on the Online Store
I want to catch products that never got published
Tags a product that is not published to the Online Store.
Why: An unpublished product is invisible to customers and invisible in most reports — the kind of thing found weeks later, usually by wondering why something never sold.
Single-variant products
I want to tell simple products apart from ones with options
Tags a product that has only one variant.
Why: Single-variant products behave differently in themes, bundles and shipping rules, and there is no built-in way to filter for them.
Products that oversell
I want to know which products keep selling when stock runs out
Tags a product set to continue selling when out of stock.
Why: Overselling is deliberate for made-to-order stock and an accident everywhere else. Either way it changes what you promise about delivery, so it is worth being able to see at a glance.
Slow-moving stock
I want to find the products that are not selling
Tags a product that sold at most N units in the window you choose.
Why: Dead stock is money on a shelf, and it is invisible in a report sorted by best sellers — the products you need to see are the ones you never scroll to. Tagging them puts them in a collection you can discount, bundle, or stop reordering.
Stock that has been listed a long time
I want to review products that have sat in the catalog for ages
Tags a product created N or more days ago.
Why: Age is the cheapest proxy for "needs a decision" — old listings accumulate stale photography, outdated copy, and prices set under different costs. Unlike a sales threshold it needs no order history at all, so it works on the day you install.
Products live on the online store
I want to tell what is actually visible to shoppers
Tags a product that is published to the online store.
Why: The other half of the unpublished rule, and the one people ask for second. "What is live right now" is the set most exports, feeds and audits actually want — and inverting a rule is not something a merchant should have to work out for themselves.
Take a tag off when a product sells out
I want my "available now" tag to disappear the moment something sells out
Removes the tag you name from any product that has an out-of-stock variant.
Why: A promotional or availability tag that outlives the stock is worse than no tag: it keeps the product in a collection shoppers can still click, and the disappointment lands at the product page. This is the rule that cleans up behind itself — and unlike a rule that only ADDS, it can reach a tag another app or a person put there.
