Shopify tags that keep themselves true.

Rules2Tag turns a plain-English condition into an automatic tag on customers, orders and products — then removes it when the condition stops matching. It also turns risk signals into review queues, without pretending a signal is a fraud verdict. It is for merchants who have outgrown one-time exports and workflows that quietly go stale.

Plain English, and it reads back as a sentence

Every part is chosen from a list, not typed — the rule you build is the rule that runs.

ThenAdd tag VIP

Every part is chosen from a list — no regex, no code. The rule reads back to you as a sentence, the same one that runs.

Useful beyond the first trigger

A tag is only useful while it describes the record now. Rules2Tag is designed around that difference: it catches up on existing history when activated, checks conditions as data changes, and removes condition-based tags when they are no longer true.

Jun 14A refund drops spend to $410 — tag VIP removed automatically

Nobody has to notice the refund and go fix the tag by hand. The rule re-checks itself; you never see the stale label.

Customers

Build VIP tiers from lifetime spend, order count, location or other customer conditions.

Orders

Tag orders by payment gateway, sales channel, destination or the conditions your operations team needs.

Products

Keep stock-sensitive and operational tags current as product data changes.

Risk signals you can route

Rules2Tag can tag Shopify's own risk recommendations, disposable email domains, automated-looking email patterns, and order shapes such as tiny first orders. These are review signals, not verdicts: no IP, device, VPN, proxy or browser fingerprinting.

Tag the signal

Send suspicious signups and risky orders into a queue your team already knows how to review.

Keep the decision yours

A tag does not call a buyer fraudulent or cancel an order. It makes the next human decision easier.

Pair it with checkout rules

For stores that need a harder stop, a matching checkout rule can use the tag on a later attempt.

Designed to be checked before it runs

  1. 1

    Write the rule

Describe the condition and the tag in plain English.

  2. 2

    Preview a real record

Confirm the rule reads the right customer, order or product data.

  3. 3

    Turn it on with confidence

Backfill existing history and keep the tag aligned as conditions change.

Your full order history, not just what happens from today — read, counted, and shown to you before a single tag is written.

Try it on your store

Rules2Tag is live on the Shopify App Store. Install it and write your first rule in monitoring, where it shows you what it would tag before it tags anything.
