• Restrict regulated products by region

  I want to stop restricted products going to certain states

  Block checkout when alcohol, vape or another restricted item is shipping somewhere you cannot send it.

  Why: Alcohol, hemp, vape and live plants are legal to sell but not everywhere you can ship. Shopify's native checkout rules validate address FORMAT only — they have no per-product dimension, so this cannot be expressed natively at all.

• Keep incompatible items in separate orders

  I want to stop items that cannot travel together being bought together

  Block a cart that mixes two groups of products that cannot ship together.

  Why: Frozen with ambient, hazmat with air freight, fragile with oversized — mixing them means either a ruined delivery or a manual split. Shopify cannot split an order by fulfillment type outside Plus, so the practical fix is to stop the cart and explain why.

• Keep pre-orders out of in-stock orders
