• Turn off cash on delivery when it is risky

  I want to turn off cash on delivery on risky orders

  Hide an offline payment method on big orders, and on any order containing a gift card.

  Why: Cash on delivery, bank transfer and pay-at-pickup all hand over the goods before the money arrives, so the exposure grows with the order value. A gift card is emailed the instant the order is placed, which makes an unpaid offline order a straight loss at any size. Shopify's payment settings switch a manual method on or off for every checkout alike, with no way to say "not on this cart".

• Stop card-testing orders

  I want to stop card-testing fraud

  Block tiny orders from throwaway email addresses that follow a pattern.

  Why: A merchant reported 225+ fraudulent $2 orders a month on addresses shaped like firstname.lastname###@gmail.com, costing ~$85/mo in unrecoverable fees. Shopify's own free Fraud Control cannot match a pattern, and Flow only runs AFTER the order exists.

• Block checkout for flagged customers

  I want to block customers who are already tagged as risky

  Stop checkout for any customer carrying a fraud or bot tag you name. This rule reads tags; it never adds them.

  Why: Detecting and blocking are different jobs. This rule only reads customer tags — it never writes one, so something else has to do the tagging. Our Rules2Tag app writes fraud-suspected and bot-suspected for you; Shopify Flow or your own manual review can write whatever you like. The spelling has to match exactly, because a near-miss like "suspected-fraud" matches nothing and reports nothing.

• Hold orders where billing and shipping countries differ

  I want to catch orders where the card country does not match the delivery country

  Stop checkout when the billing country is not the country the order ships to.

  Why: A card billed in one country and shipped to another is worth a second look, and Shopify's own free Fraud Control reports it only AFTER the order exists. This holds it at checkout instead. It starts in monitor mode on purpose: a mismatch is a reason to review, not proof of anything — gifts, expats, students and corporate cards all produce one. Watch it against your own orders before it turns anyone away.
